In order for me to actually tell you what is going on, I use several sites as research, so I can give you the best possible information, before I get into the opinion of it all. Here are my most used sites for information:

Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC): www.abc.net.au
I also watch the news on ABC TV almost every night, and my family listens to ABC Local Radio.

The ABC NEWS YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ABCnews24
They have a live feed of ABC NEWS (the 24hr news channel), and is the only 24-hour news channel on free-to-air TV in Australia.

The Sydney Morning Herald (SMH): www.smh.com.au
Does some click-bait political stuff, but also has good columns analysing political issues.
